Dibs is designed to work with Shopify's Online Store sales channel. Dibs uses Shopify Selling Plans to apply preorder and backorder settings to your products when customers purchase them through your online store.
If a product with a Dibs preorder selling plan is also available on other sales channels, such as Shop, Point of Sale (POS), Facebook, Instagram, or other connected channels, customers may be able to purchase the product without the Dibs selling plan being applied. In such cases, the order may be created as a regular order instead of a preorder.
To avoid this, we recommend making products associated with a Dibs preorder or backorder plan available only through the Online Store sales channel. This ensures that customers purchase the product through your online store, where the Dibs selling plan and preorder functionality work as expected.
You can manage the sales channel availability of your products in Shopify at the product, variant, or collection level.
1. Hiding Sales Channels at the Product Level
If you want to hide an entire product from other sales channels, you can manage its publishing settings directly from the product page in your Shopify admin.

2. Hiding Sales Channels at the Variant Level
If only certain variants of a product are configured for preorder, you can manage the sales channel availability for those variants separately.

3. Hiding Sales Channels at the Collection Level
If you have multiple preorder products grouped in a collection, you can also manage the sales channel availability for the collection.
